An add on LinkedIn could look like this. (Just an example) It contains a “Hook” which is: The opportunity to learn more about Additive Manufacturing for free.
Everyone who clicks are interested in 3D-printing and they will give us their contact info, and we can start a communication.
I prefer fixed agreements and goals.
That is why I work according to a well-defined process that ensures us an efficient implementation of the complex task we have agreed to solve.
I consider myself part of your sales department, as I believe that my purpose is to acquire customers for your business. In order to attract potential customers and then turn them into paying customers, it is necessary to establish an automated sales funnel. This requires insight, collaborative skills and discipline. I have described the process so that everyone is aware of what to expect.
Find your message!
Just like in the "old days", one must know one's right in the market: What do we offer the world, and what does the world get out of it? I assume that you have a handle on that, but you will be surprised at how few have actually thought it through, and if you need it, we will have that discussion as well.
Choose your strategy!
When that is in place, you usually also know a lot about who the target group is for the company's customers and how to reach them. If it's clothes for tweens, maybe TikTok is the one to use, but if it's products for other companies (B2B), then LinkedIn might be more relevant. If you are going to sell clothes to tweens, it is all about guiding them into your shop, while it can be a longer customer journey if you e.g. sells production machines to the industry. Here you must first clarify whether the customer actually needs the type of machine you offer, whether the contact has decision-making authority, whether the customer has the facilities and capacity to buy the machine, and finally you must close the sale with a contract. Maybe a service subscription should be sold together with the machine, maybe it should be sold on a lease.
It could also be that you had to sell production capacity on the machine, and thus choose a subscription strategy, or there could be completely different business models at play. Regardless, this type of sales will require a more advanced conversion system to qualify leads and turn them into paying customers. A system that typically involves your skilled and industry-known salesperson, who now gets help with his traditional canvas sales and the "maturing of the customer" up to closing the sale.
Set your team
We have now reached the final stage in the planning phase before we have even started building our digital marketing.
Yes, it may seem heavy and cumbersome, but remember that it pays to think carefully before investing your efforts. I know that you are often impatient, and when you have decided to digitize your sales, you just want to get started, and there must be someone who can just do it. They do, too, but remember that they must know your company and your products well in order to build the marketing that suits your particular company. Your employees, and not least your salespeople, must also understand and accept the new tools they are given, and understand how they can use and keep them friendly.
You need the following:
A manager who can lead and manage the construction of the system and train and engage your employees in the new work processes. I would like to recommend myself in all modesty, and you can start by contacting me here!
Do you need a salesperson to close the sale, these salespeople must also join the team and be part of both the planning and the building of the system.
You need someone who can help you prepare your content for your lead building system. Typically it will be text, graphics and video. You need someone who can manage your advertising on the social media where you need to find your leads. Typically this will be ad management on LinkedIn, Facebook, Google etc.
You need someone who can design and build your lead conversion system. Typically, it would be someone who can prepare e-mail flows in e-mail systems such as e.g. Active Campaign, Klavio, Drip, Mailchimp etc.
If you have to start from scratch and build a new web shop, you must also use people with experience for that. Typically it will be Shopify, WordPress, Squarespace, Dandomain etc.
Execute!
Last but not least, the plans must be implemented. Websites must be built, advertisements must be photographed and drawn, and emails and posts must be written. All the techniques with pixels, SEO, payment processes, tracking and automation must be carried out and checked down to the smallest detail before we "go" on air. It's just to do it, but it's certainly not the smallest part of the whole project.
And how much will it cost?
Yes; how big is a cardboard box? It is impossible to give a fixed price on what it costs to build an automated digital marketing system. For the sole reason that you do not know in advance how it should look and what the starting point is.
However, you can set up some rules of thumb, and you can split the investment in two.
Analysis and development.
The analysis work takes time and requires experience and business understanding. The remuneration must be agreed in advance, and can only be determined based on an educated guess as to how long it will take. I am also willing to work on a result-based salary, where the cost is divided into a low guaranteed salary combined with a turnover-dependent bonus, which is paid later when the result is achieved.
Preparation of advertisements and setting up of advertising and e-mail flows.
Creating ads, videos and setting up the advertising requires creative skills and technical insight. There is again a piece of preparatory work that takes time before you can start your advertising on the various media. This work is also typically paid on the basis of the time spent. However, I have business partners who also perform this work on a results-oriented remuneration (Direct costs excluded). When the work is done, the actual advertising budget comes, which I will talk about a little later.
The advertising budget
When all the processing is done and the actual advertising starts together with your new conversion system, you must decide how much money you want to spend on your advertising. This is where you need to get hold of the spreadsheets. You can relatively easily get an idea of how many people search for your products if you sell clothes, but there may not be enough people searching on your particular machine for meaningful statistics to be drawn on what others pay to be at the top of your search terms . So, we have to try our best, and then we have to set some goals for what we want to pay.
First, you must calculate what you want to pay for a new sale of each individual product.
List all costs involved in delivering the product to your customer. Cost price, delivery costs and selling costs including advertising, salesperson salaries and fixed costs for software etc. Subtract these costs from your selling price and decide how much you want to pay to get the deal. Initially, you may have to accept a slightly higher price until your ad campaigns are optimized to work as effectively as possible. This effectiveness is monitored by the systems that the individual media make available to their advertisers. This is where you can really "geek" in KPIs such as Reach, Cost Per Click, ROAS and all the other buzzwords. The short story is that if you test different ads, over time you can find the most effective ones and then focus on them. Thus, you will lower your cost of advertising and marketing in general, but don't forget that you still have to close your sale. It is not closed with likes on Facebook. It may take 3 or four e-mails before your salesperson gets an on-line meeting with the customer. After that, there may be a few more months of reflection, during which the customer must be informed and "kept warm", before the decision finally comes to the table of the real decision-maker and the deal can be closed by the seller. (It is important that your seller is consulted so that he is supported as best as possible during this long process. We know that the majority of customers look for their information online, and we must ensure that they get our information, so we stay inside in the fight.
I hope I have given you an overview of how you can build effective digital marketing. I now have a question for you.
What do you think it costs?
How much do you think should be invested in building your new lead building and lead conversion system? What can you pay for a sale? Would you like a non-binding online meeting where we can talk about the possibilities. So book me for free!
Work processes on the way to an automatic sales funnel
-
Analysis
First, we spend the time needed to analyze the need for your marketing. We will develop your future sales tool. So you and your colleagues must invest time and consideration in this process.
-
Development
Next, we develop and describe the strategy and design that we believe future marketing should consist of. You must also get involved and take ownership in this process.
-
Execution
Once we agree on the form, all material must be executed and all programming must be set up and tested. This phase requires the least involvement of you. - Right up until the results have to be processed.
-
Optimizing
Only after this long process can we assess the results of our efforts. We can assess which sub-elements work best and where we need to optimize.
