A strong people manager and sparring partner for the team. 

I have run a business for over 20 years. In 2007, I established a wool shoe production in Kathmandu, Nepal. With 2 young local managers, we successfully set up a production employing around 100 workers who follow LEAN principles. Despite the challenges of being on the other side of the world, visiting Kathmandu only a few weeks a year, having employees that often did not speak English, and operating in a developing country with scarce resources, I am proud to have accomplished this feat. Delegating responsibilities, trusting my employees' will to succeed, and maintaining open and educational communication played a crucial role in our success. I am proud to say that I still oversee production at the workshop, and many of my initial employees are still with me. I build and systematize, so that others can take over and continue running the business.

Implementing strategy in tactical and operational marketing

I am a typical entrepreneur, and the business idea, business model, product portfolio, and customer segments are the first building blocks of the company. Operations and organization are equally fundamental, but sales are crucial to the company's survival, and my strategy has been digital sales and marketing, which I have learned the hard way.
After many mistakes and losses, I chose to build my own web shops and digital marketing. An automatic lead generation system connected with an automatic conversion system is, for me, the core of any modern sales organization. Therefore, sales and marketing are not two separate entities in my world. Strategies should not only be conceived but also implemented, and that is what sets the sheep apart from the rams.

Planning and executing marketing budget

I don't know your marketing budget, but I know how to calculate the cost of a sale. First, I will define these costs in detail, compare them to the other fixed and variable expenses that each product includes, and then set my marketing budget. You should expect higher costs per sale in the beginning/building phase, but as the systems gain traction, you should also expect better more efficient and cheaper marketing.

Develop and implementing digital marketing

Modern sales have become digital, and this applies to all industries, actually. In close collaboration with the company's salespeople, I will build what is known as a sales funnel. An efficient sales funnel consists of both an automatic lead generation system and an automatic conversion system, which converts potential customers into paying customers. Lead generation often takes place on social media (e.g. LinkedIn) and increases awareness and leads through advertising. These leads then need to be qualified for a sale, either closed directly through a webshop or by a salesperson. Such qualification can be done through a series of emails that are automatically sent based on a set of predetermined activities. Again, I must emphasize that the theory is simple, while the actual work of building these systems requires hard work. It is also important to expect a high effort during the construction of these systems, while subsequent operation requires less work, and employees will be at the top of the learning curve by then.

Developing International marketing

It is often said that one should start with their local market, and only then expand internationally - one step at a time. This still holds true, but only in the sense that one should have control over their processes. The principles of digital marketing are the same in all countries, and although you can't simply take your campaigns and translate them directly into all languages, you can replicate your processes and adjust them for multiple countries at once.

Strenthening brand awareness and market position

Brand awareness is a fundamental component of digital marketing. Lead generation is achieved by increasing awareness of a brand through advertising. Market position cannot simply be bought, but with successful marketing, one can deliver on their promises and thereby increase their market share.

If environmental benefits can be documented and if it is demanded, the daily testing and data analysis will naturally enhance the marketing of this parameter.

Operationally drive marketing projects

As mentioned, I am motivated by building and initiating, and as an entrepreneur, my primary motivation is results measured by increased sales. I also expect to be measured on these results, and active engagement and daily operation will be a prerequisite for achieving them.
I recognize the need for an intense period of building systems and developing personnel and processes in both marketing and sales. The job will likely change to maintenance and optimization of marketing efforts afterward.
Perhaps, at that time, another profile may be desired to fill the position. I mention this just to emphasize that I am the profile you need right now, and I am not looking for a position to stay in until retirement.
